 Here we go again!
« Result #1 on Jul 9, 2007, 10:33am »

So, a new season is upon us. High hopes for this year? When is the full fixture list coming out?

Looks to be a good set of friendlies lined up starting on Saturday. Where is the ground for the first one? Will there be the usual directions? How much is the entry to friendlies - normal price?

Apologies - so many questions!

So whats the chances of them ending up in the Combined counties, or are we "too low" for a club of their stature(!)?

Hi everyone, I have been an Epsom and Ewell supporter for many years and will continue to be so, as I live in the hope that one day we will have our own ground again. I would like to say that yes I was sorry to see Pete resign as chairman of the club, but clearly understand the reason/strain as to why he did so ( well those that I know!) I would also like to say that the club, players (both current and past),and supporters should say a big thank-you to Pete, and the Lumm dynasty for all the hard work, dedication, he and family have given to the club over all the years that I have supported the team. I think I can say that without it the club may well have folded by now, but a big thanks must go to Pete for helping to keep it alive and well. If only Mr Grant had the same commitment!
See you all next season, take care, Jeff Pye

Well this has been my worst seasons attendance for 25 odd years and to be frank... I'm glad!

There has been many off the field and in the office issues which the club has been fighting against and put in perspective, its a case of surviving. If that was the target, then I'm satisfied with another season.

But, would I be satisfied if the same performances are trotted out next season? Absolutely not. The jury is well and truly out on Lyndon and his team. He has to show a big improvement or its a golden handshake.
Quite honestly we are not a good team. One or two players who put their all into it, are let down by some who's effort level is below mine getting out of bed in the morning. The rest just simply are not of a quality required by Epsom and Ewell Football Club. And before the players come on here and have a go at me, they know which categories they fit into. Hopefully, so does Lyndon and he'll deal with that. Good luck to him.

Some of the attitude shown on Saturday was a disgrace to the good name of the club, its officials and most of all the supporters. A core of individuals who have kept the club alive over the past year or so deserve more than that too.

But guess what, I'll be back next season. Why? because in my heart I'll be looking forward to an improvement and watching Epsom moving back up the table, with those players who've stayed showing the way, and letting the new boys know how much they need to care.

Am I being a bit harsh? Maybe, but as a fan who has seen a lot here, its how I feel.

Thank you to all those on the committee for your hard work, here's to keeping it going again next season, but in an upward direction!

Paul

Well, it's been a real season of transition on and off the pitch. I'd like to think Lyndon has a fairly settled squad now and hopefully with a few additions we can make a good start next year.

As to previous years, I'd like to think the rot of three desperately dissapointed campaigns has been reversed and we can look forward to better times ahead.

Thanks for your support, glad you've enjoyed it, and watch the website for updates on friendlies (none arranged just yet!)

 So, summary of the season?
« Result #6 on Apr 19, 2007, 9:20pm »

As the season winds to a close with nothing lreally eft to play for, I wondered how people thought the season had gone.

To my mind, its was a 'slow' start, had a bit of a storming period in the middle and then fizzled out at the end. I think the new manager has settled in well and done an OK job with what seems to be an ever changing side.

This is my first season watching the team so interested to hear others views as to how this compares with others seasons, whether there are reasons to be optimistic over the summer break before next year.

All in all, me and my boys have enjoyed coming down and everyone seems very friendly so looking forward to catching a couple of games before the end of the season and starting again in August. Will there be any pre season freindlies?

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay in replying but I haven't looked into the forum for a few weeks! Unfortunately on the day in question the referee doing the pitch inspection was delayed by traffic jams because of the the collapsed drain on A217, by the time that all the paperwork was completed I was unable to get home to update the website as I had the 2nd XI kit that had to be delivered to Molesey for their match that afternoon.

There is a procedure in place - when a match is postponed, the chairman sends a text out to ALL committee members and team management. The team management then are responsible for informing players by text.

There are three supporters who I currently send texts out to once I know of details of pitch inspections or postponements, if you would like me to add you to this list of supporters then send me a private message on here or see me on a matchday (normally found in the boardroom or behind the goal that we are shooting towards)

Alternatively if you wish to check on match days you can phone up my mobile or Banstead Athletic 01737 350982 if we are at home

 Bedfont Green game!!

What happened to the game today!!
Got to the ground and there was no-one there, no notices, nothing on the website.
If games are going to be rained off what is the procedure? There must be some advance warning given
Its not on to expect people to go to the trouble of travelling to the ground and not know what is happening when they get there.
